1. n. A toxic condition caused by the chronic overuse of bromides, characterized by mental dullness, loss of muscular coordination, and sometimes skin eruptions.

1. n. A diseased condition produced by excessive use of bromides. It is characterized by somnolence, weakness of mind and memory, confused speech, feeble and staggering gait, impaired senses, diminished reflex excitability, suppression of sexual instinct, eruption on the skin, feebleness of the heart, catarrh, etc. Also called brominism.
