1. n. A genus of petrels, of the family Procellariidæ, based upon B. columbina, a small whole-colored fuliginous species about 10 inches long, the wings 8, the tail 4½ and cuneate, with graduated rectrices, inhabiting the Canary islands, etc. The genus is intermediate between (Œstrelata and the small petrels known as Mother Carey's chickens.
