The highly diverse and numerous moth fauna of the area includes many rainforest endemic species, including the brilliantly-coloured Aenetus monabilis, one of the largest moths with a wing span up to 18 centimeters (cm), and the very restricted Douea xanthopygs and Polyeuta callimorpha which are only known from several collections.
