1. A family of Paleozoic rugose stone-corals, of the order Sclerodermata and group Rugosa. The corallum is simple, rarely compound; the septa are very rudimentary; and the visceral chamber is filled with little vesicles formed by combined tabulæ and dissepiments. Edwardsand Haime, 1850.
