  • | Reply | Permalink yeah, i think mccain is fundamentally disconnected from american voters. he's used to running for easy reelection in red enough arizona and giving tire swing rides to the national press. he doesn't understand (certainly not like bush did) that if you are running as a republican for president you have to full court pander (LIE) to the middle class and dem-leaning independents if you want to win. republicans are in the electoral (as well as electoral college) minority in this country. the majority of americans agree with democrats, not republicans on the bulk of public policy. republicans have to deliberately confuse and disinform voters on the policies that matter most to them if they want to win. mccain's done a bang-up job confusing the voters about what his policies would be but he hasn't adequately disinformed them about those policies. he's only left them confused.
