Acute ischemic stroke Lundbeck has initiated a Phase III trial with desmoteplase for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (cerebral thrombosis), in which the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted.

Following consultations with health authorities, the trials have been designed with the aim of measuring efficacy of one dosage of desmoteplase three to nine hours after the stroke occurred.
