1. Noting an acid, a colorless compound, C₁₇H₃₀O₂, prepared by the saponification of elæococca oil with alcoholic potassium hydroxid. It melts at 41° C. and is readily converted into elæoleic acid, with which and with elæostearic acid it is isomeric.
