  • noun A name of two Australian shrubs or small trees, Stenochilus longifolius, of the family Myoporaceæ, and Heterodendrum oleæfolium, of the soapberry family, whose leaves are greedily eaten by sheep, affording food when grass and other herbage are killed by drought and heat. Called also emutree.
