- n. In chem., an explosive liquid of oily consistency said to have been obtained by electrolysis of a solution of ammonium fluoride. The name implies the presence of hydrogen as a constituent. The substance has also been called nitrogen fluoride, on the assumption that it consists of nitrogen and fluorin only. Its existence is doubtful.
