1. A group, generally ranked as a suborder, of terrestrial pulmonate gastropods; the land-snails and land-slugs, including those forms which have the eyes at the tips of the tentacles. The group is framed for the inoperculate land-snails generally, such as the Limacidœ, Helicidœ, Vaginulidœ, and related families. Also called Stylommatophora and Nephropneusta.
