I'm down with that definition of glory hole, but I do wish they'd change one or the other definition. Otherwise, how's a bear to keep track of which one is intended?

Ah, glassmaking parlance! Pure rudery.
Unless, yarb, you're speaking of a hole in the side of a glass furnace that is used to reheat glass being fashioned or decorated; or a separate appliance for reheating glass. :-)
Agreed. But it is useful (if only pejoratively). I much prefer the more neutral Wall of Fame.
Obscene in its own right, but the similarity with glory hole further besmirches this phrase.
Seen in a current article that linked to this one. An eminently useful phrase I had never heard.
