  • A tribe of plants, of the natural order Rubiaceæ, established by Bentham and Hooker in 1783, having the corolla-lobes imbricate or twisted in the bud, the ovary 2- to many-celled, with many ovules in each cell, and a fleshy or coriaceous, many-seeded, berry-like fruit.
