1. n. In entomology: A genus of scarabæoid beetles: synonymous with Anomala. A genus of wasps, of the family Odyneridæ, with about 20 European species. Also, improperly, Oplopus. In Arachnida, a genus of mites, typical of the family Hoplopidæ, erected for the reception of the Cœculus echinipes of Dufour when this mite was proved to possess eyes.
