Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia
- n. A reddish-brown powdery compound, C32H40O7N4, found in the urine of fever-patients and in feces. It is generally supposed to be a reduction-product of bilirubin, formed by the activity of bacteria in the intestinal canal.
