Definitions

from The Century Dictionary.

  • A group of true spinning-spiders, having conical, convergent, slightly exserted spinnerets arranged in a rosette, eight unequally large eyes arranged in two transverse rows, and very slender legs: opposed to Tubitelæ and Orbitelæ. These spiders spin irregular webs, the threads of which cross in all directions, whence the name.
