  • noun In phytogeography, a line connecting the latitudinal points of the same maximum or minimum temperature and, therefore, according to Pound and Clemeuts (the authors of the term), limiting on either side the zone of the occurrence of plants of like maximum and minimum endurance. Compare life zone.
