  • noun A forest-tree of the Fijian Islands, Semecarpus Vitiensis, belonging to the sumac family: called kau-karo (itch-tree) by the natives. It has an acrid, poisonous milky juice and produces an eruption on the skin like that caused by Rhus Vernix.
