  • noun Contagious pleuropneumonia or lung-sickness. see pleuropneumonia, 1. It is a highly fatal, epizoötic disease which affects bovine animals only and is characterized by an extensive inflammation of the lungs and pleura. It was eradicated from the United States in 1892.
