A class of excellent French red Bordeaux wines, included under the English term of clarets, comprising the finest wines of the Bordeaux type, the Château Laffitte, Château Margaux, and Château La Tour, as well as many other brands of desirable quality and more moderate cost. All these wines have a delicate aroma, and a peculiar slightly bitterish flavor, and when pure are free from headiness.
