Thai-style squid salad with buckwheat noodles woven in preceding pasta rags aka maltagliati served with wide ribbons of courgettes, chilli and lemon was not quite so diverting or well balanced but nevertheless, speaking as a lady, a good lunch.
If you make your own egg pasta, you can cut some into maltagliati, which are shaped like triangles approximately 1 inch on each side; once dry they will keep for months.

We didn’t feel like soup, but around here, pasta is always Plan B, unless it is Plan A, and there were some broad, thickish, irregularly shaped egg noodles in the fridge — maltagliati, if you want to put a name to them.
