- n. An old and disused name for a bird of Paradise.
- n. [capitalized] A genus of Paradise birds established by Brisson in 1760, equivalent to the Linnean genus Paradisea. Two species were included by Brisson under this generic name, Manucodiata major and M. minor, corresponding respectively to the Paradisea apoda and P. regia of Linnæus, neither of which pertains to the later genus Manucodia. [Not in use.]
