Australian euphemism for a brothel. It was a term much in use back in the days when there were no legal brothels. There are now licensed establishments in the state of Victoria, properly listed in the Yellow Pages under Brothels. In other jurisdictions prostitution a.k.a. 'escort service' is generally legal though not brothel-keeping.
