We were in the Miraflores area of the city and our initial reaction was "great! big city, modcons, KFC, papa john´s pizza, mcdonalds ...!" so on our first night we caved (after 4 weeks in the jungle and several weeks passing through peru on overnight busses) and went to mcdonalds (burgers and nuggets and double oreo mcflurry) and went to the cinema (saw a crap film called "smothered" but it was in english and a comedy ... and the main actor looked and acted uncanilly like zach braff) - oh the joys of the modern world!
