  • noun A genus of Fungi Imperfecti, of the family Leptostromataceæ, having dimidiate pycnidia in a black scutellate stroma. The species are mostly stages in the development of Rhytisma. M. acerina is the pycnidial condition of Rhytisma acerinum. See Rhytisma.
