1. n. A sugar (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) obtained from the manna which falls in opaque drops from various species of Eucalyptus growing in Tasmania. It is a crystalline solid, dextrorotatory, and directly fermentable. It is probably a compound of raffinose and eucalin.
