  • A family of olive-green seaweeds with a gelatinous or cartilaginous thallus of hemispherical or cylindrical outline, forming small gelatinous or slimy cushions or branching tufts on other larger seaweeds: the same or nearly the same as the Chordarieæ or Chordariaceæ of Harvey. See Chordarieæ.
