1. n. A transparent, highly refractive, solid polymer of styrolene, (C₈H₈)n, contained in liquid storax and formed spontaneously from styrolene, into which it is retransformed by distillation. Also called metastyrene, metacinnamene, and, incorrectly, metastyrol.
