1. A family of birds alone representing the order Opisthocomi, typified by the genus Opisthocomus, having an enormous crop and anomalous sternum and shoulder-girdle. The keel of the sternum is cut away in front, and the sides of the bone are double-notched behind; the clavicle is ankylosed with the coracoid and with the sternal manubrium.
