• noun In Porto Rico, Boerhaavia scandens, a trailing weed belonging to the Nyctaginaceæ. The perianth-tubes inclosing the fruit are glutinous and easily detach themselves from the plant. They adhere to other objects, and young chickens and turkeys sometimes die in consequence of their eyes becoming sealed up by them.
