1. n. A genus of pentatomoid bugs of the subfamily Asopinæ, having the head smooth and shining, the throx with norrowly elevated lateral margins, and the tibiæ distinctly sulcate. There are 6 species exclusively American. P. circumcinctus is common in Canada and the western United States, and is known as the ring-banded soldier-bug. It is predaceous, and one of the known enemies of the Colorado potato-beetle.
