- n. A flesh-red aventurine variety of feldspar from Perth in Ontario, Canada. It consists of interlaminated albite and orthoclase, or albite and mincrocline. The name has been extented to similar compounds from other localities; when the laminæ are visible under the microscope only, it is sometimes called
microperthite .
