  • noun An extinct genus of hoofed animals of the family Phenacodontidæ, suborder Condylarthra, characterized by small elongated skull, proportionately very small brain-cavity, complete dentition, bunodont molars, and pentadactyl feet the axes of which pass through the third digit as in the Perissodactyla.
