  • noun A coal-tar color used in dyeing, similar to eosin. It is the potassium salt of tetra-brom-dichlor-fluorescein.
  • noun A coal-tar color of the xanthene type. It is the sodium salt of tetrabrom-tetrachlor-fluorescein. It dyes wool and silk bluish pink and red in a slightly acid bath. Also called phloxin TA and eosin 10B.
