This, as well as the compounds in which from one to four of the hydrogen atoms are replaced by organic radicals, forms salts, as phosphonium iodide (PH4I). phenylphosphoniuni iodide (C6H5PH3I), tetrethylphosphonium chlorid ((C2H5)4PI), etc.
