1. n. The beautiful shrub Rhododendron (Azalea) nudiflorum, common in swamps and on shaded hillsides from Canada to Texas. The flowers have the style and stamens much exserted, and are quite variable in color —pink, purple, and (in the South) sometimes yellow. Also called azalea and honeysuckle.
