"Hoofdkaas" sounds more like a Dutch version of a French food: hoeuf d'cas. ;->

On the nosey, U. That's exactly what it means.I do kind of like the Dutch name for the same dish--hoofdkaas. But it still translates as head cheese.

Wait, I don't know nothing about Scottish. Is this meant to be literal, like "potted head?" That's just gross.
Maybe--but this one comes darn close.
I guess there just isn't a good way to say "head cheese."

Uhh... uselessness? Is this phrase any more appealing to you, since it isn't deliberately misleading? ;)
A Scottish term for head cheese.
