1. n. An alcohol, (CH₃)₂C:CHCH₂CH₂CH- (CH₃)CH₂OH, having the odor of roses. It is found in Turkish rose-oil and in geranium-and pelargonium-oils. It boils at 211–212° C. The name rhodinol has also been given some-times to geraniol and to mixtures consisting, chiefly of geraniol.
