- n. Acicular crystals of rutile crossing each other at angles of about 60°, and giving a reticulated appearance, whence the name (see rutile); also, rock-crystal inclosing a fine web of rutile needles; sometimes, also, similar acicular forms of some other mineral, as asbestos, tourmalin, etc.
