• noun A destructive disease of fish, especially of salmon, caused by a fungus, Saprolegnia ferax. See Saprolegnia.
• noun This disease of the salmon was formerly attributed to Saprolegnia, but recent experiments seem to demonstrate that it is primarily due to Bacillus Salmonis-pestis.
