  1. n. A building for holding sheep, especially for convenience in feeding them. It is provided with suitable gates or doors, and is fitted with a rack for hay and with troughs. It is sometimes mounted on a frame with wheels, so as to be movable.
  2. n. The starling, Sturnus vulgaris: so called from its habit of perching on the backs of sheep to feed on the ticks.
