It grows six or eight feet high, spreads by stolons, has the leaves silvery-scurfy and somewhat rusty beneath, and bears fragrant flowers which are silvery without and paleyellow within, and silvery edible berries which are said to be a principal food of the prairie-chicken in the Northwest.
