  • A tribe of polypetalous plants, of the order Tiliaceæ, characterized by flowers with the sepals and petals inserted immediately about the stamens, the petals not contorted in the bud, often calyx-like and incised or sometimes absent, and the stamens bearing linear anthers which open at the apex.
