1. n. A catostomoid fish of the Mississippi valley, Cycleptus elongatus; the Missouri or gourd-seed sucker, or black-horse, a singular catostomoid of large size (1½ to 2½ feet long), and of very dark or blackish coloration. See cut under Cycleptus.
