- A mite of the family Tyroglyphidæ, Tyroglyphus or Glyciphagus sacchari, or some other species of the restricted genus Glyciphagus, infesting sugar. These mites abound in some samples of unrefined sugar, and are supposed to cause grocers' itch. Also sugar-louse.
