A tree of the genus Eucalyptus, of various species, including Eucalyptus Gunnii, a mountain form of which in Tasmania is called cider-tree (which see); E. pauciflora, white or drooping gum; E. rostrata, red-gum; E. paniculata, white, ironbark; E. amygdalina, giant gum or peppermint-tree; etc.
