  • A suborder of teleocephalous or physoclistous fishes with the branchial arches well developed, the third and fourth superior pharyngeals much enlarged, and the inferior pharyngeals coössified. It includes the families Scomberesocidæ (or Exocœtidæ) and Belonidæ.
