  • noun A genus of fossil ferns, with simple or pinnate fronds having a strong midrib or median nerve running to the tip, from which the nerves rise obliquely, but soon curve and pass at nearly a right angle to the margin. The genus is found in the Carboniferous and Permian. Its fructification is unknown. See Tæniopterideæ.
