- n. A tree, Casuarina montana. which forms exclusive xerophilous forests at moderate altitudes in the mountains of eastern Java. The tjemoro forest, classed by Schimper as a peculiar form of savanna forest (see savanna forest), passes in places into tjemoro savanna.
