- A group of Paleozoic corals of doubtful character, named by Edwards and Haime for such forms as Aulopora and Pyrgia. They have compound or simple corallum (in the former case the corallites united by blanches and creeping cœnenchyme), tubular or pyriform thecæ, rudimentary septa, and no tabulæ.
