1. n. In petrography, a name given by H. S. Washington (1896) to lava intermediate in composition between trachyte and andesite. A trachyte containing nearly as much labradorite as orthoclase. The lava equivalent of monzonite. Compare latite, trachyandesite, and trachydolerite.
